Ms. P: Seeing Myself with Kind Eyes

Vancouver Boudoir Photography, Lifestyle Photography, Intimate Portraits, Boudoir

This beauty was such a joy to work with; like capturing sunshine. Her shoot was our first time shooting at Notable Studios and I loved all the creative sets available. Ms. P totally brought it, despite feeling a little nervous, and I could not be more obsessed with the images we created together. After her shoot, I asked Ms. P about her experience with Wild Femme and her first boudoir photoshoot, and this is what she had to say.

How was your photoshoot experience? What was your favourite part?

Fantastic! I loved that you were able to guide me through poses, but also very open to any thoughts or ideas I had for the photos as well. It made it feel like a true collaboration!

I love to collaborate with our clients; I get some of the best images that way. How did I do in regards to making you feel supported and safe during your shoot?

Incredibly so! You made sure to check in and ensure that I was comfortable with the outfit choices and how much of my body would be on display.

Good! That’s definitely one of my main priorities as a boudoir photographer. How did you feel doing the shoot?

Before I was a little nervous, but that quickly evaporated during my session. In no time I was relaxed and having the time of my life. I left feeling on top of the world!

Yeah, it’s really great to witness a client shift their energy and to witness them relax into themselves and the shoot. I’m curious what inspired you to do a boudoir photoshoot with me?

I needed to do something for me. To remind myself that I am beautiful as I am.

That’s one of the most common reasons. I love that I can do that for women, reflect their own beauty back to them. Of course, I wish we were in a society where that wasn’t so necessary, but here we are. So I’m glad I can be a small part of helping my client’s to see themselves in a new light. How did the photoshoot effect your confidence?

It had a huge impact! Seeing my images has made me feel so empowered! It's one of the first times I have looked at myself with kind eyes and have been able to see what others see in me. Heck, I'm even considering getting a thigh piece now(tattoo)!

That makes me so dang happy! I think we could all stand to look at ourselves with kinder eyes. Well, I suppose we could stand to look at ourselves AND others with kinder eyes. And for what it’s worth, we definitely vote yes to new tattoos! Wrapping things up, what would you say to someone else considering doing a boudoir photoshoot?

HAVE FUN! Don't worry about executing the perfect pose, Lindsay will guide you. Bring clothes that make YOU feel sexy and it will show in your images.

Thanks! That’s some great advice. Truly, when clients are having fun and feeling themselves, it definitely translates to the images. Okay, any last thing you want to add?

As someone who doesn't love the camera I know how daunting it can be, but I have never felt so comfortable having my photo taken as I did with Lindsay. I hope others are able to experience that liberating feeling as well.

I do too! Thank you sooooo much for spending some time with me and trusting me with your boudoir experience. I had SUCH a great time with your photoshoot.
